Nino Kvrivishvili studied Textile Design at the Tbilisi State Academy of Art ( 2001-2007) and
has exhibited extensively in Georgia and abroad.
Her recent shows include the artist’s solo exhibitions SIGNS at Czech Cultural Center, Paris (FR);
Industrial Narratives at Museum Wäschefabrik, Bielefeld (DE); Pop-Up: Textiles – in collaboration with curator David (Data) Chigholashvili, Textile Shop Tbilisi (GE); Gallery Melike Bilir, Hamburg (DE); Binz39, Zurich (CH); State Silk Museum, Tbilisi (GE).
Her works were included in group exhibitions such as Landscapes of an Ongoing Past, Ruhrtriennale (DE); Long-distance Friendships, Kaunas 14 th Biennial (LTU); Reflected Positions, Kunsthalle Tbilisi (GE); Keeping the Balance, Ludwig Museum (HU) and many more.
Nino Kvrivishvili was part of residency programs in Germany, Switzerland and in Lithuania.
Nino Kvrivishvili works with textile installations. Her works are focused on processes of changes, investigation of history. Most of her textile works constitute by depiction of abstract images and are charged with narrative meaning. She intends to see how images and materials unfold through history by transforming traditional textile making into contemporary art, both formally and conceptually.
