Sarah De Vos (°1985,Brussels) creates, triggered by music and film, images that have a seductive beauty, while at the same time evoking critical reflections on how we deal with images. At a certain moment this led De Vos to paint on (the back of) glass. More recent work has been painted on wooden panels, whereby the painting was finally sealed with a transparent epoxy layer. In this way mirrors have emerged, in which our own reflection inevitably plays a role in the perception of the elusive image, here and now.
Sarah De Vos lives and works in Leuven. She studied painting at Sint-Lucas in Antwerp and followed a postgraduate degree at De Ateliers in Amsterdam. In March she has a solo exhibition in Namur, a group exhibition in Autun and this summer her work will be part of the Biennial of painting in Deinze.
