Text

My work is a sequence of visual sequences that, over time, constitutes an experimental documentary of a fictional ethnology.
It is as a variegated painter that I experiment with self-rootedness a globalised world that mixes Western and Eastern ways of life, thoughts and histories.
During my travels in micro-localities, which I go through as "chosen exiles" and departures from zero, I encounter micro-histories, a narrative, a testimony that touches the individual and the collective, the subjective attachment to a place, a nature or to an inherited object.
In order to apprehend my environment, I try to explore images from different eras, from the heritages of communities of elections that are foreign to me, by juxtaposing them, confronting them with each other. The notion of affiliation and belonging to a community disintegrates, an imaginary territory emerges.
An iconography emerges that is based on repeated attempts at integration, where relationships - sometimes discordant - are established between man and nature, memories of the individual and the collective, between tradition, separation and upheaval, between place, time and culture.
The process of the work is developed through a series of observation and repentances, links between an environment full of history and brief, intense and cyclical news. Each observation, each stage is the archive of a visual trajectory, of an unknown here moving towards an unknown there.
